CELEBRITY CRUISES OVERVIEW: Celebrity Cruises, a premium cruise line, has one of the youngest and most innovative fleets of any major line. Since Celebrity's first sailing in 1990, it has been recognized as an industry leader, praised for providing friendly and engaging service, exotic Elemis Spa facilities, award-winning gourmet cuisine, and an overall atmosphere of easy elegance. Purchased by Royal Caribbean International in the late 1990's, Celebrity has grown its fleet significantly while maintaining its Premium niche.
The Fleet
Celebrity currently has a fleet of nine elegant ships. One of Celebrity's ships is the Celebrity Xpedition. The Celebrity Xpedition's size allows 92 guests to experience the Galapagos in a very comfortable expedition style ship.; Plying the world's waters in high-tech comfort are Century, and Mercury which are host to 1870 guests. Celebrity's Millennium Class of ships include Millennium, Infinity, Summit and Constellation each host 1950 guests. Each is a ship of incomparable beauty featuring sumptuous amenities, impeccable service and comfortable accommodations.
Among the vast array of inviting public spaces onboard the Millennium-class ships are Celebrity's first specialty restaurants, which feature actual paneling and artifacts that once graced first-class luxury liners, including the RMS Olympic, the SS United States the SS Normandie and the Ile de France. Also featured on the Millennium-class vessels are the first Conservatories at sea, the industry's first exterior glass elevators, 15,000-square-feet of designer boutique space, and 25,000-square-foot Elemis Spas, the largest and most exotic spa facilities at sea.
The Millennium-class ships also expanded upon Celebrity's fleetwide favorite spaces, including Michael's Club cigar lounge, the stylish Cova Café Milano, trendy Champagne and Martini Bars, enormous museum-quality art collections, and a comprehensive Family Cruising Program for four age groups. In 2007, Celebrity announced its plans for a new generation of ships - the Celebrity Solstice(2008) and Celebrity Equinox(2009). The design of both Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Solstice is highly innovative. At over 122,000 gross tons each, they are Celebrity's largest and first ever post-panamax (wider than the Panama Canal) ships. Innovative elements of this class of ship include "The Lawn Club" a large deck area with grass, The Hot Glass Show (in co-operation with the Corning Museum of Glass) and AquaClass Staterooms that are an integral part of the most extensive spa experience at sea.
Cuisine
Celebrity Cruises has always been known for its cuisine and has consistently won high praise from guests and food aficionados alike, while earning top culinary awards for outstanding food and service. Celebrity's award-winning heritage of offering the finest cuisine available at sea can be attributed to the cruise line's distinctive method of culinary preparation and exacting standards: all food is prepared from scratch using only the finest, freshest produce and herbs and fresh provisions weekly. Celebrity's Solstice and Celebrity Equinox take the fine dining experience to an entirely new level with new alternative dining options.

AquaSpaSM
While spas at sea have now become more commonplace, Celebrity Cruises was the pioneer in the development of the spa vacation within a cruise experience. Celebrity first introduced AquaSpaSM facilities and custom-branded programs in 1995 on the Century-class vessels. The line dedicated generous onboard space and invested in breakthrough spa technology, thereby offering a combination of world-class beauty, spa and fitness centers to expand its guests' vacation. Cruisers can now enjoy a luxury spa vacation by being completely pampered, while enjoying all the other features a cruise vacation offers.
Many of the AquaSpa's treatments and special spa
facilities were taken from Middle Eastern, Asian and European spa
practices that use sea and fresh mineral water to detoxify and refresh
both the mind and body. AquaSpa offers a serene water environment where
touch, texture and architectural design come together to cleanse and
purify the body, mind and spirit.
Family Cruising
Celebrity Cruises offers exciting activities and
entertainment fleetwide geared to young people, at no charge.
The Family Cruising Program, available during summer and
seasonal sailing periods, is designed for four age groups,
with specific activities tailored to the interest and needs of
each group. A warm and caring staff of highly trained
counselors run the program in a safe and secure environment,
allowing families to truly relax during their cruise vacation.
Youth activities are arranged according to age groups. They are: Shipmates, ages
three-six; Cadets, ages seven-nine; Ensigns, ages 10-12 and
Admiral T's, ages 13-17. During holidays and the high season:
Shipmates, ages three-seven; Cadets, ages eight-12 and Admiral
T's, ages 13-17, in the off season. Additionally, 18-year-olds
are welcome to use the teen facilities. Pizza parties are
offered two nights on a seven-night cruise.
All children under the age of 18 are eligible to
participate in Celebrity's unlimited soft drinks program once
onboard the ship. After the package has been purchased, a
special sticker is placed on the child's signature card,
allowing the child to obtain soft drinks throughout the cruise
from all bars onboard, with the exception of the casinos,
Michael's Club, Martini and Champagne Bars, and discos after
10:00 pm. Soft drinks will be served only when the child is
present, one drink at a time. The cost is $4.50 per day, plus
a 15 percent gratuity, per child.
